Updo is more than just an ERP platform in development; it is designed as an all-in-one solution where everything users need is integrated seamlessly. The platform focuses on modularity and prioritizes user experience, with simplicity and ease of use as key differentiators. While more technology will be added in the future, the client needed a strong foundation to begin with—a name, a logo, and a visual identity. Having offered brand naming services for several years, I was excited when this client chose to work with me. After several discussions about the platform and company vision, I presented a list of 10 name options ranging from made-up words to clever combinations. We ultimately settled on Updo, a name with multiple meanings: putting your hair up as you prepare to work and “doing up” as in driving growth.

The client loved the name, so we chose a clean wordmark logo that lets the name speak for itself. To make it stand out, I added distinctive cuts to the letters that create a subtle illusion of upward movement. Since the platform also needed an app icon that would be recognizable at small sizes, I designed a complementary icon along with a set of mockups and a brand guidelines book to help them launch with confidence.

Where recognition builds trust.
