Designing the visual identity for the 50th of the Franco-Ontarian flag on behalf of the CECCE was both an honour and a personal milestone. As a Franco-Ontarian myself, I felt proud to contribute to a project that celebrates our culture, language, and shared heritage. The festival marks 50 years of the Franco-Ontarian flag, and the logo needed to reflect that significance while remaining playful and accessible for a school-wide celebration. With only one week to deliver, the creative process was fast but deeply meaningful.

A Custom font with symbolic integration.
To highlight the 50th anniversary in a subtle yet striking way, I created a custom font where the numbers 5 and 0 are integrated directly into the lettering, replacing the S and O. These two characters were stacked and highlighted in green, referencing the flag, while the rest of the wordmark remains in black for contrast and clarity. This combination creates visual intrigue, rhythm, and balance, while ensuring that the “50” remains central to the identity. The result is a dynamic and energetic logo that’s both functional and meaningful.
Icons that celebrate community and diversity.
In addition to the logotype, I designed a series of icons inspired by the Franco-Ontarian flag and the values of the school district. These icons were reimagined in a fun and festive style to reflect the joyful spirit of the event. The colour palette was chosen to represent the diversity within the Franco-Ontarian community, while still aligning with the CECCE’s brand. This project was a celebration in every sense, and despite the tight timeline, the final product reflects both the vibrancy of the event and the pride I felt designing it.
